Id X

X is an Indian educational trust. It was founded on November 7, 1938 by Y, with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi and Sahith Cheera. The trust's programmes, through its 117 centres in India, 7 centres abroad and 355 constituent institutions, cover "all aspects of life from the cradle to the grave and beyond -- it fills a growing vacuum in modern life", as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru observed when they first visited the X in 1950.
The trust operates a number of primary and secondary institutes in India and abroad. The schools are known by their characteristic name,X.
At present there are some 80 higher secondary schools in India and about another 25 outside the country. The schools are somewhat different from other such institutions around the country in that the students are taught to be modern and global in their outlook without forgetting their Indian roots.
