X is a festival held in Valencian,Bunol every year on the last wednesday of August.It all started during a parade in 1945 when young men who wanted to participate in the event started to throw 'Y' from a near by shop at the parade.THe police had to finally intervene.In the very next year a group of youngsters on the same wednesay started throwing 'y' at each other.This time too the police had to intervene.Then they continued this fin the successive years until it became legal in 1950 when they played it in a ground.But however the next year it was again banned.But the festival never stopped and finally in 1980 the town hall took the responsibility of holding the festival.THey brought in tons of 'y' from the locals only for this festival.
The rules of this festival are that the contestants have to squeeze the 'y' before throwing so that no injury is made.They should not rip of T-shirts.They should give way for trucks etc..
This festival became famous because of a portrayal of this in the media.It is also shown in a particular add of Ray Ban neverhide campaign.
